Because:
1. They hate Trump
2. They don't want to have to admit that millions of people watched the live stream on Youtube, Facebook Live, Persiscope (Twitter), and dozens of other streaming platforms all over the world.
Their very relevancy as a media source VS the internet is at stake. And with that...their advertising revenue.
No way that they would admit they have lost viewership on television and are being outpaced by streaming sources on the internet.
It's not that Trump is so great...it's just that ISP speeds have greatly increased since Obama's big inauguration 8 years ago. And things that didn't even EXIST (like Facebook Live for example) are now being used by hundreds of millions around the world.
I'll bet that whomever wins in 4 years will have an even BIGGER audience just because of the new internet speeds.
