Audio alert for new gmail - chrome browser - Mac OSX
OK, so I'm running osx 10.6.8 and I'd like to get an audio alert when a new gmail arrives in.
I'm using chrome as my browser, gmail is always open in a tab, and although after 5 mins inactivity, the screen switches off, the mac itself doesn't sleep.
Up until now, I have enjoyed an audio alert from my cellphone on the desk, that is also synced to the same gmail account as my mac. However, with my new phone, its linked to a different gmail account, so I'm obviously not gonna get an alert for my main account anymore...
I've looked online and seen many 3rd party solutions (which are mostly for PCs) but they also seem over the top and bloated in what they are offering to do for me.
All I want is JUST an audio alert when a new email arrives in gmail. Who can give me a simple and elegant solution please?
