It could have been avoided if the UK taxpayers paid more in taxes to subsidise better buildings and maintenance of those buildings. Better design, fire retardant materials, better rules, sprinklers, fire alarms that worked, etc.
Government spending at 42% of GDP, there still isn't enough money to pay for all these things. That figure barely pays for austerity measures. The ever increasing costs of liberal policies is making the bills rise further.
But all you liberals can do is point out that people protesting against the problem are racist, uneducated, drunken louts, etc.
