Whatever the 'local issues' were neither candidate took a position leading to a sizable victory. It's just a congressional race where national 'must-win' politics ruled that day. They (R and D together) spent $50 million. Republicans didn't lose and the Democrats didn't win.
Barry, you like to quote the 50+ million spent but failed to disclose that 52 million came from CA to the democratic candidate and 3 million went to the republican. There is your cute little sarcastic 'influence' not like they actually believed a damn word of the dem. They outspend the Republican 52 million to 3 million and still lost. WOW I thought it was a referendum on Trump? Not only did that not work, throwing all that liberal money didn't work either.
