47 million Americans don't have access to the interwebs

Amazing that its 2017 and still about 15% of Americans cannot or will not connect to the web. Invented in 1989 it's been almost 40 years and still we have 47 million Americans not connected. China's online users more than double entire U.S. population which relates to about 50% of their population.

A lot of the issue can be attributed to companies like Time Warner (Spectrum) who want customers to pay upwards of $40,000 just to connect their homes to the internet. Think thats an exaggeration? Well thats what they asked my to pay to run cable 200 yards from a neighbors house.

To be fare some people are just too old or have little interest in using the web. I look forward to the day when everyone has fiber optic cable to their homes and super fast connections at reasonable prices.
