Gun ownership is not taken seriously. Owning a gun and having the power to instantly take someone's life is the most serious thing someone can ever do. It's mind blowing that a child could get access to a hand gun and shoot someone. Twice.
I grew up with firearms. It still blows my mind that we kept a dozen rifles and shot guns in a glass cabinet that you could see through the front door. I have firearms myself; They are locked up in a safe that is difficult to find.
I don't carry firearms to Home Depot or WalMart. If you feel the need to carry fire arms on a daily basis, then you need to move to a better neighborhood.
