Any WiFi Experts Here?
Two issues. I connect to the house WiFi on my iPads and Windows tablet/laptop without issue. I put in the name, password and save it. It connects automatically.
Today I tried to set it up on my Windows laptop that I?ve not used since moving (3 months). Added new wireless connection, put name and hit connect. It didn?t ask for password. But, a window kept popping up, asking for the ?security key.? WTF is that? Password gave mismatch response.
I searched for a free internet connection but nothing local or really free. I?d need a modem, so I searched online for USB modems. $9-$200 seems to be the price. Cheap is good as I shouldn?t need it often. But, what do I look for in a USB modem?
If I buy one, is there really free internet ? broadband is fine ? or is it a waste of money? Ads I don?t mind and if it limits me to x number of gb or mb, so be it.
I need to print out about thirty pages and can only do so from the big laptop. If I don?t have a security key, I need an alternative connection to get online. I could print from an iPad if I hadn?t lost the little connector with usb on one end and iPad connector tab at the other. I can?t find another one as Apple discontinued it.
So ... WiFi connection fix and USB modem solution.
Oh, you can probably print wirelessly to the iPad but the directions I had last year didn?t work out. I think it was connecting the printer to the WiFi. I?ll search for those directions again in case someone can help me with it. I?m on a different system now.
