I am a US resident with a TIN (tax identity number) and have furnished W9 's -- and have never been asked for photo id from any sponsors paying me.
This is about international transfers of money from the USA. Until I have personal knowledge otherwise.
National governments are fighting globalization -- and in the end -- they will lose IMHO.
