Remember back when this happened to Nixon the country still had a teensy, weensy bit of morality and decency left. But now fifty years later, with the greedy Baby Boomers in charge, anything goes so there's no "moral shame" like in Nixon's day.
That's why so many politicians have that annoying shit-eating grin they always wear. It's because they KNOW they will be zero consequences. No one gives a fuck except to watch the game and root for their side to "win". But in the end we're all losers for not holding these snakes accountable. We get the Government we deserve after all.
