Interesting theory. We are all different, and it all depends on the type of work. I sleep approx. 7 hours a day, work 7-8 hours or less and manage to do it all. Sometimes it is possible to finish everything in 3-4 hours, depending on the circumstances. I wouldn't want to work more and spend less time with the loved ones just to make a bit more money, if that is the point of the article.
Also, just because someone works more doesn't mean that he/she is going to accomplish more and be more satisfied or happier in life in general, or more successful than the competitor, again, if that is the point... unless you are a workaholic, but then you just work in order to work. For me, not sleeping regularly and working all day long represents a pretty low-quality life, but of course there are days when it's necessary to spend all day in front of the pc to finish some task. Luckily, not often.
