Why would he resign? He has more power over any mechanism of justice as president.
He can't be subpoenaed or indicted without supreme court imprimatur. Bill Clinton didn't resign, neither will Trump.
He also won't be removed. He may be impeached, as Clinton was, if democrats take the house.
