About 20 years ago when I was going up to London a lot, I got hit by speed cameras about 3 times in a row and nearly lost my licence on points. I wasn't being reckless, it was just at night, with no one on the road, going a couple of miles over the limit and getting hit one after another on a short stretch of road.
I was driving a rover at the time and my reg was something like A245 WJD. So I got a new back plate made up to read A245 JWD - Just slightly different. Result was that I then carried on London driving with cameras going off left right and centre for just over a year (Before I left for the USA) and didn't get a single ticket !
I did however get stopped once locally. I just said that I never realised the back plate was wrong - I bought the car that way and never noticed - And they said fine - Just get it fixed ! Never did though lol
