You need to know what is your acquisition cost, meaning how much money you need to invest in order to get a lead, there are industries (like weightloss) where people lose money on the first sale and they have a very "deep sales funnels" and noobs try to enter those markets competing with a cheaper product without realizing the first sale is just to reduce the acquisition cost, I already revealed too much for free in this comment.
