Just wanted to comment that after dealing with Ryan from VaCares for a while now, I have worked myself into a position to obtain my second server.
The idea of using the second server as a workstation, directly connected to my first server for fast network utilization has really improved the speed of my operation. FTP is not required when you can drag and drop files at 1000mbps locally.
Also, the computer stays on when you remote desktop in and out of it. It allows you to leave your home machine for other uses. Want to encode / watermark videos while gaming for example? Or upload videos to other sites? Minimize remote desktop connection and realize that your home computer isn't affected by your business tasks.
You can see how this would benefit someone who does a lot of large video sharing or strains the cpu / gpu encoding or watermarking videos.
I know this isn't a new idea, and there may be other ways to do this stuff, but I am grateful I can decrease the time spent working on my sites. So far I've seen 2x productivity.
