Here’s how that happened: In January of this year, officials in Maryland’s Republican Party changed their Twitter account from @mdreps to @mdgop, but neglected to tell the national committee of the change. Sometime later that month, their old handle was taken over by Sexy Car Babes, which quickly began tweeting out links to its website, sexycarbabes.com, which the Gazette noted dryly is “a website that has nothing to do with cars.”
