For me it's more about seeing a story on the news, and then trying to find out what really happened from the source.
If CNN or Fox News says that a person said something and paint it in an unflattering light...you can usually go to YouTube and watch the person saying it unedited and find the truth.
And for events that happen...then you have to really dig. Many times the best way to find out what really happened in an incident in the United States is to find the local news channels websites. They usually don't have any obvious political bias in their reporting.
As for world news...all bets are off.

We literally have no idea if what we are being told is true or some kind of propaganda.
