For as long as BTC is held in majority of/by investment 'speculators', it's days will be doomed as a currency alternative.
Nobody who would use it as a currency and hold it for use thereof wants to worry from one week/month to the next that it may only buy half as much.
It' a shame. But perhaps time will shake out the greed and allow stability.
