It would greatly reduce one of the sources of problems and resources. But yes people flying in and overstaying is another issue. Which requires a whole lot of resources to enforce that businesses are using the e-verify and doing random checks, and making sure that the punishment for business that skirt the law are punished hard.
Illegal immigration is a multi faceted issue, and you'll never get 100% at stopping it. But there are many more things that are available to greatly reduce it. IMO anyways.
