You can find some post about xvids ranking algos on another forum ( use google ).
Basic is that they ranks aged and long videos ( this was in the past, did not know about today ).
And you see on homepage videos with random names and with small amount of views because of your previous searches/viewed videos - they have some algo like youtube and shows ˙ou suggestions.
