The politicians never dreamed of getting the Out vote. But that'snot the problem, the problem is Westminster.
The EU can see that a majority of politicians don't want to leave the EU. They know that Westminster will try at every stage to thwart the Out vote. This gives them the advantage.
So they can now play hardball and the Remainers can get what they want. To stay in the EU. If the EU knew from day one that the UK was leaving on March the 23rd with or without a deal, the UK was preparing for a No Deal exit. It would have been more flexible. More EU jobs are reliant on a good trade deal with the UK than UK jobs reliant on the EU. Yes it would be hard at first, but the UK would be in charge of it's own future and have the world to trade with.
