Todays politics are becoming rather scary. Populism never ends well.
Jews are being attacked in Germany because the far right thinks it can get away with it.
The UK political situation is also very dangerous. When populist tub-thumping pub bores are calling the shots there is clearly a vacuum of leadership and ideas.
Populism is very attractive whenever it rears it's head. Why face your own inadequacies when you can blame foreigners or minorities ?
Leaving the EU wont fix the structural problems of post industrial post Empire Britain. Blaming China and Mexicans wont fix the US.
The EU is the biggest market for UK products and services yet we act as if they are the devil. China could be a massive market for US companies, but the Orange child indulges in a populist trade war.
The west, led by UK and US, is self destructing. NATO is under threat and Putin stands and laughs.
Very scary shit.
