This is true all across America, not just NYC. I agree with you! I am even to blame (and I should know better). I went for a walk in the park yesterday. Dog shit all over my sneakers I did not realize until after I had walked all over my apartment!
Threw the sneakers out, washed the floors, spent time washing clothes...yeah, I learned my lesson the hard way!
