It sounds like the media should stop saying young people are likely to survive. While the odds are good, they are nowhere near as good as a seasonal flu. It sounds like a total gamble of who gets very mild, to no symptoms, versus young people who indeed survive, but many because of medical intervention.
Of course we should avoid it - a simple statement of fact is not an advocacy for any action.
People over 80 have an apparent death rate of 15% and people in their 20s .4%. However you want to state it, or whatever actions you take because of that data, it is a simple truth that old people die more frequently.

This is disease is not the flu, it kills by hypoxia. Oxygen levels drop, and toxic chemicals build up in the lungs. People that have trouble with hypoxia, the elderly, asthmatics, obese, those with heart issues, die more readily than those who are in shape. However, those in shape can still die, but they are less likely to do so.
