A bit more than a year ago you wrote pretty much the same to me, when I was asking about my first adult tube site. Well, it worked out well for me, now launching my third tube. 98% tube sites in the market are awful spammy crap, offering terrible user experience. Make it better and you will outrank them easily. I went to first page by my main KW in 3 months, to top 3 in 6 months. No spamming, no active link building (except contacting some of main porn lists). I would assume it's because my user metrics were outranking many competitors. And that can be achieved by focusing on quality.
While you are unlikely to offer better overall porn-watching quality and experience than Pornhub, you can totally offer better experience to someone, who is looking for "midgets with black cock dildos". But of course, you need to offer them something better. And if you are not a coder and cannot hire one, making a quality website might be problematic.
At least this has been my experience during this 1.5 years of running adult tubes.
