Our Murdoch appointed Government had hugely fucked up with the fires here, to little too late and not listening to experts. Covid came on the scene directly after, while the Government was still in damage control form the fire fall out.

COVID was seen as a way for the Government to redeem itself so they jumped ahead of other world Governments and enacted the national pandemic plan early and began mass testing. A kneejerk reaction in many ways but what was needed at the time.

There have also been some serious fuckups by not banning flights from the US earlier despite those returning from the US testing positive 1 in 130 and allowing cruise boats to disembark with no restrictions.

Anyone with a sore throat or even feeling sick here is advised to get a test.

I'd guess there will be another small spike after Easter (Thanks Christians) but then we can concentrate on the return to work plan.

The current time frame for that is 4 weeks. For the US to do the same you'd have to see a serious drop in numbers or they're going to open too early and have you all back in quarantine for Christmas imho.
