It's 2020. We've all had several years to watch this unfold, and I'm curious to know what everyone thinks about it now and for the future.
The issue we all know well:
- There's a proliferation of tube scraper scripts designed to suck content directly from the big, established tubes.
- An overwhelming number of these scraped sites use custom players/plugins designed to circumvent the default (sanctioned) video players provided by the originating tubes.
- So Pornhub, for example, ends up providing ALL the content, text, tags, categories, video bandwidth, streaming technology, etc — and then the offending webmaster removes and replaces all Pornhub's ads and links with his own.
Question #1: What are the originating tubes doing to fight back / prevent such theft? Is it worth their time to fight back?
Question #2: At what midnight hour does Pornhub/Adultforce reach critical mass and decide they don't need to offer video embeds at all – and merely replace all embedded videos with a "Watch this video on Pornhub" loop?
