I wouldn't waste my time submitting to the small tubes when promoting my own projects. Their traffic is low and shitty. Every single user knows Xhamster , Xvideos and/or Pornhub since they are popular and hold the top positions in Google anyway.
There is no reason for surfers to prefer the small tubes with slow speeds and full of annoying ads or viruses instead of the well-known and trusted sites,
except:
a) they are bought traffic redirected to the tube (= shitty)
or
b) they are looking for pirated long scenes or otherwise illegal stuff and those small tubes that often ignore DMCAs do serve them that kind of content (= freeloaders, thieves, scumbags)
So in case of b) you are filling these piracy sites with your content while helping them gain better Google placement, to send you 50-100 shitty views per video.
Regarding your boost in sales, let's not forget 2020 was the pandemic year, sales were good for many paysites due to lockdowns, so that could be partially the reason.
