One more question... you mention brakes above, the car does not have brakes? How does it stop?

I cannot believe how quiet they are, that has to be hard to get use to driving... is there any change in sound when accelerating? I think the one thing I would miss is the rumble of the muffler.... the roar of the engine... it's the teenage gear head in me
You get to dislike that engine sound after awhile. This from a guy who had a Corvette with lake pipes.

As for the brakes, it is called one foot driving. As you let off the "gas" pedal, the regenerative braking kicks in and you glide to a stop where the car just holds. Think of it like downshifting to a complete stop. If you need the brakes, they are still there, but you hardly ever use them. So they last forever.
