It is usually the opposite in the dating world. The more questions you ask the surfer, the more things you make him fill out, the more likely he is to confirm his email and pay. I have tested the whole spectrum of 1 click versus 20+ clicks with millions of dollars.
It can of course depend on other factors like the source, creative, type of click (banner, popunder, email etc), and these days device (IOS you can get away with a shorter / 1click funnel, Android users you have to qualify), but it was definitely a shock when I started testing this years ago.
