You’re in a different country, right? It’s American English, and it means the person is laughing or thought something was funny. Lol means "laughing out loud.” Similar thing in French "mdr" and "ptdr" mean about the same thing. Mdr mort de rire, ptdr pêté de rire bent over with laughter. So it would be like a friend person typing mdrdrdrdr or ptdrdrdrdrdr
Anyway, your rates are a lot more affordable than mine, so that person would probably laugh even harder at me.
