The bubble is burst on the internet

We seem to be hitting a new bubble burst, and this will make things interesting.

Years ago we had the bib bubble burst where huge online businesses went bust. Many set up who seemed to think they had exclusive rights to sell and that no other firms could set up to compete and that they could run things with no costs (as in they thought they did not need to spend money on advertising).

we have seen a few youtube channels go bust too as even though they got a lot of views, it was not going to cover the cost of full time presenters, staff and equipment. Indeed I came across one channel that had spent a ton on equipment and studio gear, presenters and staff, but had no more than 300 views per vid.

But now Vice and others seem to be going bust.

Not because they do not have views but because they run things in a very expensive way.

But one problem is one suspects adverts these days do not work online.

One suspects that adverts on a page that gets say a million views in a day would result in few clicks (especially as you may have seen the same advert or banner on other sites). Then how many result in sales?

Not to mention the click bait problem. Where the title interests you but you find the article is not what you expected and leave. This creates lots of traffic and you can con advertisers into paying a lot of cash for worthless views.

This will be the problem from now on, Not just mainstream but for porn sites. Adverts simply are not very good online. I suspect most people cannot think of many online adverts but probably can think of many they have seen on the TV or even listened to on the radio.
