Since the dawn of jet aviation every five year old around the world has understood what a contrail is by pointing at the sky and saying "what's that", and their dad, older brother or school teacher explaining it in under 10 seconds.
Everywhere except the US, that is, where the magic sky streaks are simply the government yet again trying to KILL EVERYONE for some reason, using the most expensive, impractical and implausible method imaginable.
US population 1923: 100 million.
US population 2023: 330 million.
Not exactly Nazi Germany levels of genocide, is it.
