The Nazis are the BBEG to the Jews, but it is in the benefit of the Jewish people to have that "enemy" that everyone can blame for the problems... WW2 is a foundational legend of western societies now, and the "Nazis" are the ultimate bad guy. How can this be used to manipulate people? "We need to send X amount of money overseas, perpetually forever, because if we don't, well, nazis!"
