setting aside the whole WEF thing, as these AV technologies are popping everywhere and each claims to be a perfect solution that protects end-user privacy
the FSC has an
interesting article about the inefficacy of these laws for any minor who knows how to use a VPN, and the potential risks of site-side AV (identity theft, phishing, increasing the attractiveness/growth of sites hosting illegal and pirated material that don't follow the laws, etc)
I'm not on the side of minors accessing adult material, but I don't see how the risks don't outweigh any potential benefits. this feels more like the hand-wringing war on porn (and also profit for the numerous AV providers) than any actual concern for keeping adult material out of the hands of non-adults
device-based restrictions seem like a better balance to me. that way wouldn't the parents/guardians have more control over what the minors in their care have access to?
