Jomtien is little better, but also not nice.
Just watch where you see the toilet pipe enter the sea. Don't swim there.

Pattaya is better than Bangkok when Bangkok is too hot or flooded.
Many people from Bangkok en Pattaya go on holiday to Koh Chang.
Always traffic jams at the ferries on Thai holidays.
I had a storage box in Pattaya some time to dump stuff. Can be handy also.
