couldn't believe this was against the law in NY so looked it up, apparently it is. squirrels are banned along with giraffes and rhinoceroses
interesting ferrets are on the verboten list as well, quite a few of my friends had ferrets growing up
gerbils I could at least understand as they spread the black plague (it wasn't rats as many think) but nope, they're ok in NY. I had two of those growing up, I loved those little death machines very much
