We can go much further than a bombing too. In the 1980s we invaded Grenada. It was called Operation Urgent Fury. We went in, accomplished our goals, and left. We never declared war. (Random fact... I was in 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines, which landed in Grenada although I was in the unit years after this.)
We bombed someone but this doesn't mean we are "at war" with them.

True... Under Obama, the US dropped 26,171 bombs on various countries. Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan.
Were we at war with all of those countries?
