In 1996 I had my first website "Zachary's Daily Dose", a daily bikini site. I updated it every day by hand. Back then I had no intention of making money off of the website. It was just purely for fun. Someone emailed me and said "If you put a banner on the bottom of your page I will pay you $1k. I was in college at the time and needed the money. It was a banner for a preggo chicks website. The check cleared. The next month he offered me $2k for two banners. This went on for a few months until he decided not to renew. By then I was looking into adult programs and... here we are.
