I guess the old saying there are only 2 kinds of motorcycle riders.. those who wreck and those who will still apply. I broadsided a car in one at 70+ and slid another under a boat trailer that turned in front of me at an intersection so can definitely relate. Never got busted up like ompi, he is going to have a long path to recovery. I'm just wishing for him they can hurry up and get to going on putting all the pieces back together like they're supposed to be and get him outa that ICU so I can smuggle him in some Krystal burgers and beer. ;-))

That sounds like good news to me. I know in these situations, doctors are reluctant to say anything that sounds even remotely positive. Mark (my hubby) wrecked his bike several years ago... broken femur, shattered pelvis... etc... and he was told he'd not walk for quite some time and that he would always have a limp. Well, after a month in traction we got him out of the hospital AMA and he quickly recovered his ability to walk and doesn't have a limp.
So... hearing that John can wiggle his toes sheds a great deal of positive light on the situation and I am so happy to hear it. And as far as smuggling goodies into the hospital... I got pretty good at that during Mark's stay, so let me know if he'd like me to slip anything in sometime.
Thank you, Dokk, for the update and please keep us informed on his progress.
