Hey guys, I know a lot of you are from California.

I was wondering what the price of living is over there. A good friend of mine graduated college and was offered an job in Redwood City. He say rent is something like $1200/mo for a 1 bedroom apartment. Is this true? It's only $500 here. That's nuts! Also, he was offered $60k.

If anybody can offer me some insight on how much things cost around there, it'd be great! My wife and I are planning on moving somewhere in a few years... California is on our "places to visit" list too.

But if things are so highly priced over there, and I make the same amount of $$ as an adult webmaster, then maybe somewhere in the midwest is better for me financially.

Any thoughts?
