I suck down a MRP with an extra scoop of whey immediately after a workout, because they digest very quickly. That's just about the only time I use them. I use Mealplex, it's cheap and I see no reason why I should spend a bunch of money on MRPs. Mealplex contains maltodextrin though.

It's not MRP, only protein.. but it all works the same for me..
Just a whey shake alone will not give an insulin reaction, and that's the point of MPRs, to create an insulin reaction. That's particularly important immediately after a workout, because insulin is one of the most anabolic hormones in the body, next to GH and testosterone.
