Signup Forms and the safety of your personal info.

With all the Identity theft and domain hijacking stories I have heard lately, we have been tightening up security.

This brings me to the question of how safe do you think your personal information is when you sign up for a sponsor?

Do you make sure that the form is encrypted?

What's the chances of someone finding out your social security number and other personal information about you that sponsors require in the signup process?

IMHO that kind of data should and needs to be encrypted, just like on a credit card billers signup form to a paysite.

If you don't see the little yellow lock at the bottom of your browser and you don't see the see an s in the https:// in the url chances are your data is not being encrypted.

Take a look around and take note and the next time you hit send look and see if your data is safe.

This has been a GFY public service announcement.

Thank You,
BV
