Yes, they have gone 'round the bend.
While I certainly wish to protect the IP rights of people, Criminalizing the creation of "tools" is over the line.
That would be similar to jailing JVC for developing the VCR in the Mid- 80's simply because it COULD be used to copy video tapes.
It will never pass constitutional muster.
