Problem with that theory is that the soldier really doesn't have a "choice" if he is sent into a fucked up war, with bad equipment.
Think about it. An 18 year old patriotic kid, and they are kids at that age, wants to serve his country. He knows there is a risk that he might die, but that the people in charge will make the right decisions.
He has been let down by those in office right now, and those are from your party. You know the ones that are protecting our country, because liberals never join the armed forces, they are too week.
