Adult Magazine Ad Deadline

Just a quick note that ads for the June issue of Adult Magazine are due by May 20th...

Here are some additional stats as of the beginning of May:

We currently have 5512 subscribers, and that number goes up minute-by-minute (I've had to edit that number twice in the writing and proof-reading of this email). You can actually check this number live in your advertiser dashboard.

Issue #3 was released May 1st. In the 3 days since going live, it has been downloaded 2677 times (going up minute by minute). By comparison, Issue 2 was downloaded close to 8,000 times by the time the month ended. We expect to well surpass that number for issue #3.

Subscribers are downloading the magazine to multiple devices, and they are downloading ALL of them to keep in their collections. Unlike print magazines that go off the shelves, all our issues are always live, and constantly being downloaded by new subscribers.

The average age of our readers is 36.

We believe we will hit over 10,000 subscribers within the next 2 issues or sooner.

In each magazine, we ask survey questions. Here are the survey responses we've gotten so far:

Q: When was the last time you paid for porn?

Within the last 6 months: 68%
Within the last 12 months: 8%
Over 12 months ago: 5%
I don't pay for porn: 19%

That means a whopping 81% of our respondents pay for porn. This makes sense when you consider the demographic of our readers: gay gays with money. But, the magazine is also attractive a younger demographic than the average porn site does -- and these are a younger generation of people spending money:

18-25: 24%
26-32: 25%
33-40: 20%
41-50: 20%
51-60: 8%
> 60: 3%

These numbers are borne out even more when we look at advertising clicks. Issue #2 had an amazing 4964 ad clicks (out of 5512 subscribers!). That means on average 90% of readers are clicking on ads. And that's not mention that most likely 100% are watching your previews or looking through your photo galleries (if you have them in your ads).

We also asked an important question in issue #2:

Q: How many porn sites do you belong to right now?

3 or more: 29%
2: 12%
1: 15%
0: 43%


While the first survey question looked at buying behavior over the last year (regardless of whether users have an active membership currently), this second question asked specifically about readers with active porn memberships. A majority of readers (57%) have active memberships to porn sites, and 41% of readers belong to multiple sites currently. Our readers buy porn and subscribe to adult sites.

Add on top of that the fact that advertising in ADULT is extremely inexpensive, and ADULT is a unique experience that is gaining a fiercely loyal following. Daily we get fan mail from people thanking us for creating the magazine.

We are also attracting some pretty high-caliber writers. This issue, David McGillivray (from QX Magazine) wrote an essay from his interview with Tom Bianchi. Jack Manly wrote his second site review, DJ Tristan Jaxx started a music/circuit party column, and big names are lining up to be in the magazine. Last issue, JC Adams interviewed Michael Lucas.

We are also looking at creating separate editions of the magazine for the Fetish/BDSM Market, the Bear Market and possibly a European version of the magazine. We are also exploring creating Spanish, French and German language versions of the magazine, pending the results of this issue's surveys asking about these things.

The press has been AMAZING. Fleshbot, Queerty and many more are unanimously praising the magazine.

So, armed with all that knowledge, I hope you see how successful ADULT is in only its first few months, and it is only going to get bigger and better.
