Right - Far from true. Sex.com sold for $13M with no content, no site, bankruptcy proceedings, lawyers etc.

i while back i bookmarked a post from the filppa blog about how to asses a site's worth (http://blog.flippa.com/website-valua...ur-site-worth/). i think a domains value is more about perceived value.
I would imagine search volume would be the main deciding factor, domain age and length would also be important.

CoastalWineries.com $XXX maybe already company looking for the name
CallBuyers.com $100-200 a good domain for keyword forwarding for lead site ValueLeads.com $50-200 a good domain for keyword forwarding for lead site ArchiveVault.com $100-300 a good name for records. A site as mentioned needs content but it doesn't make them worthless. These name aren't bad considering what is left in the pool. The aftermarket domain is now being offered from new registration searches. Many new name sellers offer these premium name domains as suggestions whilst searching key words eg if someone searches callbuyers they will have opportunity to register dot net perhaps if available and your dot com at the price you ask.
