Dear Site Owners

This is my first post here in GFY, so I'll introduce myself and post a little history so you know where I'm coming from.

I'm a veteran camgirl who's worked on several platforms over the years, more often than not, relying upon one in particular, to build my brand and steer my focus. My experience over the years in the camming industry, because of the antics of many large-sized websites and the general mindset within, has me working harder today than ever before, for a mere fraction of what I used to earn. Shrinking commission rates, site-owned studios (or 'agencies'), skimming, content theft, etc. all play a role in driving revenues down for camgirls. Another factor that comes into play is the over-saturation of people in the industry now, as opposed to 16 years ago. There is also an over-saturation of content that has been copied, pasted and put up for sale on every Tom, Dick & Harry's porn site. Our content. A camgirl's part in this can best be described as 'farm animal' in the sense that we are fed just enough to survive so that we continue to feed the greedy site owners with content (that they steal and we never see a cent from, despite what our contracts say). We don't dare complain because we know the sites will cut our traffic. It's a long-known fact. We sit there, complacently, crossing our fingers, hoping business will pick up tomorrow. Today and yesterday were slow. Guys aren't spending. The excuses start to amass and the longer it goes on, the more ridiculous they become. "The economy is bad." <-- As if we didn't know what. "Valentine's Day is coming" <-- What are you buying her, a car?

Funny, there are hundreds, if not thousands of these little content sites popping up every fucking day, hidden under privacy protect services. Wanna sue? Good luck. It's either a small operation that packs it all in a suitcase and flies in to another domain in the morning, or a big player that has more money than God himself, Either way, screwed again!

The first site I worked on screwed me over for 10 years. I was suspicious but had no proof. It's damn hard to prove and you have to be willing to walk away. In the end, I put it all together. Hindsight is 20/20.

I didn't go into exact detail because I've already documented everything in my blogs, complaint forums and pretty much all over the internet. My point and question to you now is this:

I am aware of what is most marketable in this industry (what looks appealing, what sells). I also know what the girls want. If there exists a site owner out there with the balls to build a site that focuses on making the girls happy and not treating them like farm animals, that site will be a smashing success.

The product being offered in this industry is the girl. What they are doing by putting out a girl who is not happy is equivalent to selling a cheap product and giving the customer no reason to return, whereas by putting out a girl who is happy, is putting out a product that is likeable, fun, and the customer will return.

Customer retention. It isn't rocket science, people.

Looking to build something big? Need help? Or does that business degree on your wall make you an instant expert in this industry? Need girls to work your traffic? Want to know how to get those girls?

I'm tired of not being paid what I'm worth. I'm tired of my content appearing everywhere and not getting paid for it. I know the side of this industry that is crucial to the success of your venture.

Let's talk. Follow me on Twitter @amanda36c It's the best place to reach me.

To models that sign up to webcams sites....read over your agreement and contract. Don't be surprised when the content you shoot ends up being advertisement or sold, unless you have exclusive rights.

Just because it happens to be in a contract, doesn't mean it can't be challenged in court. Especially where copyright laws and ownership is concerned. It isn't as though industries haven't tried this before. The tv/film industry producers are constantly getting sued for royalties they haven't paid. Same should apply to performers in this industry. I dare anyone to challenge them and do more than just a dmca takedown. ;)

Interesting post. I wish you luck and hope you do open up your own cam site with you at the helm. I'd push it.

You seem like a nice gal...remember for every one of you there are 9 other bimbos who have screwed and abused producers/webmasters. In my case there were 2 girls I helped and they ended up backstabbing me in the end.

It's a shame that the models are treated poorly by some producers.

Nice isn't me after 16 years of being screwed over by webpimps and sites. My first year in the industry, I had a $1,000.00 check go south on me by an 'employer' in this industry, working for a 'professional' site. Got screwed over majorly by iFriends, a site I worked on (exclusively) for 10 years. A revenue dispute at the end brought a lot of shit to the surface. Now, with the sites constantly lowering our commission rate, taking 'chargebacks' and refusing to answer to us about them, only fueled my decision to create something for us girls. I'm truly fed up with the way this industry treats us. It's pretty apparent in the answers I have gotten to some of my posts here, who's controlling the industry (or, trying to). They can't afford to let me in that circle. I'd crush them.

What happened there? How does a bimbo screw you over? I'm just curious.
