Our guys now have tv rolling while they work so I tried it and it seems distracting to me. Do you have stuff on in the background when you work?

Yes but I tend to only absorb about 10% of any tv program while i'm using the computer too.

I'm the opposite tv is like people in the background but music sucks my attention too much. But with tv I have to have the volume low. But this is juts a test, I think nothing is best and just getting my work done faster so I can do more things outside.

I always have the TV on when working. I would rather listen to music but there are only like 2 or 3 good songs out at any one time so that's only about 15 minutes worth of music.

When I used to work from home I always had the TV going. I likde the background noise and if something good was on I'd take a break to watch. And since I was in front of the computer anyways I would never miss an email or emergency.

I have a TV / DVD combo in my office. I run old DVDs on it. I can't really watch anything new that I haven't seen before because it's too distracting, but I watch movies I've already seen.

When at home on the couch, yes. 99% of the time it is ESPN or ESPN News.

When on the road, a coffee shop, or by biz partner's crib, I'll listen to sports radio online.

I have the TV on during the day just so it is not completely silent in my office. I tried listening to music but that doesnt work, I end up dancing in my seat, singing along (badly) and generally NOT accomplishing anything

i listened to music all day long for years so it kind of ruined it for me, music started reminding me of work hehe.. so now I'll listen to music for an hour or so and listen to documentaries for the most part, keeps the brain in motion without the distraction that would be there if i was watching something instead.

Interesting, I read somewhere that if you are having a bad day to listen to your favorite song over and over until you feel good. Never tried it.

I consider it distracting. This is why I don`t watch TV while I am working and I intent to stop watching for good at TV. I am sick of stupid old movies and bad tv shows.
The news in my country are 50% political and 50% with criminals. I don`t like both.
But I do listen Rock FM Radio.

The TV is usually on in the background but 90% of the time I cannot tell you what is on because I am paying it no mind.

I do pay halfway attention two or three hours a day, but that is more listening while working than watching.
