The two people MOST opposed to a President attacking without congress are.... Obama, and Biden! LOL

I'm not certain whether or not the president has the power, but it must be noted as rather ironic that two people that are VERY CLEARLY opposed to the President attacking a country without congressional approval are Obama and Biden....

It just shows that the left's criticism of Bush was nothing but rank political opportunism. They intentionally undermined the war effort for political gain...... and now that the tables are turned, they expect everyone to just forget their false cries of "war crimes" and "illegal wars" and "no blood for oil". Truly disgusting stuff.

think about that

its always fun to switch sides. now you got the right bitching about the same things they *wanted* bush and pals to do. i guess its just more about the bitching than anything else. they say obama is just like bush and then say he is a terrible president and can't wait to get him out, you can't have it both ways, which is it? if hes just like bush then you should love him. (i'm not speaking to superbonzo personally but just in general towards these kinds of people)

the states sat back and did nothing when saddam gassed the kurds. the states were "friends" with him then so i guess they didn't care.

should they sit back and do nothing when libya is mass killing their own people?

there is more at play here than we realize most likely.

when time is a factor, going through congress wastes a valuable amount of it, if it is law however, it should be followed. when the UN calls on the US, its not the president calling for an attack though.

canadians talking about military intervention is like Fatbastard talking about dieting.

1. There are at plenty of countries mass killing their own people right now.
2. If time was a factor, why did we wait a month to go in?
3. The UN has ZERO power to order the US to go to war, both in terms of international law, and in terms of the US constitution, absolutely NO power whatsoever to do that. Therefore, yes, it was the President ordering an attack, not the UN.

Again, I'm not sure about what we should be doing there, or elsewhere.... I'm simply pointing out the extreme irony here, in terms of what Obama and Biden have said.

Welcome to the American politics. When the other side is doing it, it's got to be bad, evil, and illegal. Now that he's in power, it's totally different.

Well there is plenty of oil in libya so wouldn't doubt that plays a factor, unfortunately.

why wait a month? well since nothing was done until the UN called on the US along with several other countries, i would assume nothing would of been done if not for the UN?

The UN may have no power but they still communicated to the US and other countries that action should be taken, its not like the US went out on its own here.

The middle east seems to be on its way to revolution/evolution? I'm sure many would like to see things change there but yes, many countries are slaughtering their own people and nothing is done. there is no real justice in this world. it seems where the US steps in is based more on greed and opportunism than anything else.

When the US steps in? What about the British, and French? What about the UN itself?

In any case, AGAIN my point is that, in their own words, Obama and Biden would have been TOTALLY against another President acting without congressional approval, (even if the UN had said ok), and yet feel free to do it themselves. I"m not sure if our actions in Libya are correct or not, but the irony of the situation is over the top.

simple explanation is that Obama was wrong when he said that back in 2007... according to NATO if anyone in the coalition is attacked they are expected to strike back if attacked. France jet getting shot down is an attack against NATO.
