Has anyone thought of doing this?

Without a doubt some great porn was produced back around 1990. There was far less produced, far less on the shelves and the budgets were far higher.

Today because of the market porn is shot a lot differently, low budgets and low porn quality.

So has anyone thought of buying up the rights to resell on the Internet films from this Era?

I would buy a membership to Private for their content produced pre 1995 and a lot of others would on a lot of other sites.

Rather than paying a producer to squeeze out a scene for todays money could any sponsor afford to buy archives of porn companies still going or those closing their doors?

IMO throwing money into the fire.

A paysite with this material in would be a goldmine.

The problem today is anyone can withing reason shoot anything. You can't jump in a time machine and shoot retro like Private were in 95. Loads of other companies as well to harvest great material from.

So will a lot of people. I don't blame producers for the level of porn today. I blame publishers.

Sorry I missed the word PAY. On Konrad's post. Speed reading

Yes I would think it does very well.

Lots of sites running 70's - 80's and early 90's for sure content, even more sites with little archives of the content.... it's like any other niche, some like and others don't.

I could see people liking this porn if they grew up with it, but compared to today's porn, even the worst amateur shot porn today is a 1000x better in quality than anything shot 20+ years ago. Always a few great classic flicks worth keeping in the archive, but it's not like they get my jollies off today.

I can see someone offering 90s porn as a niche, just like there are already lots of vintage/retro sites with 70s and earlier stuff. But I don't agree that the quality is better. Personally, I click away pretty quickly if I see 80s or 90s porn.

What a lot of people offer are titles that have been sold to many sites.

I click away pretty quickly when I hit loads of sites, so do 99% of surfers, unless it's free.

What I have found is this: Stuff I was doing in the mid 1990's looks soooo dated today. Even stuff from 2000 looks like it might as well be from medieval times.

Hair styles, clothing, etc. change and the majority of people aren't into that.

Personally...when I see porn and the girl has a Farrah Fawcett Majors hairstyle and make-up and the dude walks in with bell bottom pants...the first thing that goes through my mind is that this hot chick is probably 60 something years old now. Makes my cock go limp.

That and the old "film" look at a true 24 frames per second + the use of video game muzak playing through the sex just doesn't make it that appealing to me.

And I've always had a "Classic/Retro" section on all my free sites. Never had good sales with that stuff. I would theorize that the only people who would buy would be the guys who are a lot older and want to check out an old girl that they used to jerk to when they were younger. But once they download the whole site onto their hard drive...there really isn't much need to stay a member and get rebilled.

It isn't like any of the stars of those old movies are going to be able to do live cam shows in the members area or interact with the members.

Easy to see if one of your sites have people "click away pretty quickly"

It's called Google Analytics Bounce Rate.

Claudia-Marie.Com has a 59.34% bounce rate. Average time spent on the site is 2 minutes and 12 seconds. Of course that is the tour. The members area is a whole different animal with almost 0% bounce rate and average times of an hour (as most any members area is)

yes, lots of people thought about that and launched sites. And some of them are making good money, it depends on how smart you are, content alone won't do shit, like in any other kind of site

porn has a limited shelf life. what was crazy then is tame now and unless you were watching it back then, you won't want to watch it now.

Content alone, traffic alone, design alone, anything alone won't do shit.

It's about putting the different elements together in a way that makes the buyers sit up and take notice. Today we all know what the buyers really notice, the amount of reasons not to buy.

Because for years we put so much effort in giving away porn and so little on selling porn, we now have 1,000s consuming free porn for every 1 buying. That's 1,000s of people liking porn being satisfied by our free porn.

And when 1 does decide to buy, what's on offer? The same cloned scenes that are on so many other sites. Anyone who says he has something different is welcome to put his site up here and give me a free pass to let me do a review. I will be honest and would love to praise the good sites. Includes Robbie who never has allowed me in.

Few sites can or will afford to shoot something very different. The money simply isn't there. Buying the Internet licenses on Retro is a cheap alternative to allow the site owners to get their hands on something that isn't like everything else. The points Robbie make are what makes it different and therefore easier to sell.

A smaller audience maybe, but a far less supplied audience.

Wow, you've learnt it's not all about content. WE HAVE A BREAKTHROUGH!

But as to your groundbreaking (ahem) idea lots of people have done that with this idea of yours, and lots of people aren't having to get their wife to work or take money from piracy.

If only you knew a place to get a load of vintage porn, and you had good traffic, and good design, and good marketing you could make a bomb!

Sadly, instead you've got www.astralblue.com

Oh yeah. My bad, I forgot you know fuck all about domains and got the hyphen like people thought you should 10 years ago. Also, hence why you thought you had to live in the UK to buy a .co.uk, and why you were asking where you could buy a .xxx from.

But srsly, I wouldn't boast about that domain! LOL. Not even enough data to display ANYTHING!

Paul, srs question. Did you wake up this morning and think "I know I will do lots of things to help Damian point out how stupid I am?"

I can think of no reason why you would say you cannot learn anything from books in a thread about your pdf and here, why on EARTH would you point me to your actual domain, which has no traffic on it at all?

It's like you're trying to help me highlight out areas you have little or know understanding or experience of!
